Care tips for jewelry ✹

📍JEWELRY CARE

To preserve the lasting brilliance, beauty, and longevity of your Sylvia L Designs jewelry, we recommend giving it special attention and following a few essential care tips.

It is best to remove your jewelry before any exposure to water (shower, bath, pool, spa), prolonged humidity, perspiration, sleep, or physical and manual activities. Perfumes, lotions, cosmetic products, disinfectants, and chemical agents can alter materials, tarnish surfaces, and accelerate the wear of finishes.

After each wear, it is advisable to gently wipe your jewelry with a soft, dry cloth to remove skin, perspiration, or product residues.

When not wearing it, store it individually in a soft pouch or a closed box, away from air, light, and humidity, to limit oxidation, micro-scratches, and discoloration.

💎 STONES, PEARLS, AND NATURAL MATERIALS

Natural stones, pearls, and organic elements are more sensitive to shocks, temperature variations, and chemical products. Avoid prolonged immersion as well as cleaners, solvents, or ultrasonics.

For care, clean gently with a soft cloth slightly dampened with clear water, then dry thoroughly.

Bracelets strung on elastic cord should be handled with care: avoid excessive stretching and gently roll them onto your wrist rather than pulling them, to preserve their elasticity over time.

📎 STAINLESS STEEL

Stainless steel is a material renowned in contemporary jewelry for its strength, stability, and hypoallergenic properties. It tolerates occasional water exposure, but drying after exposure is recommended to preserve its shine.

Periodic cleaning can be done with warm, slightly soapy water, using a very soft cloth or brush, followed by rinsing and thorough drying with a non-abrasive fabric. Avoid abrasive products or unsuitable polishing pastes.

Stainless steel is hypoallergenic and very well tolerated by the vast majority of people with sensitive skin. Skin reactions are rare. However, if irritation occurs, it is advisable to remove the jewelry immediately, keep the skin clean and dry, and consult a dermatologist if the irritation persists.

✹ PLATED FINISHES (GOLD, ROSE GOLD, BLACK)

Plated finishes consist of a precious layer applied to the surface; their durability depends on the conditions of use and contact with the skin. Water, perspiration, repeated friction, and cosmetic products can, over time, lead to a gradual fading of the plating.

It is recommended to avoid all contact with water, perfumes, and creams, and to wipe the jewelry after wearing. Store it separately to reduce friction with other pieces.
Depending on individual skin chemistry, especially with a more acidic pH, wear may be accelerated; in this case, unplated stainless steel is the most durable option.
